Kissei Gascon 40mg is a commonly used gastrointestinal defoaming agent, with the main active ingredient being Dimethicone (also known as Simethicone), used for the physical elimination of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract.
1. Main Efficacy and Actions
- Relieves Bloating: Reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, causing small bubbles to merge and rupture, thus being expelled through belching or flatulence.
- Alleviates Symptoms: Improves abdominal fullness, excessive gastrointestinal gas, and discomfort caused by gas accumulation.
- Preparation for Examinations: Can also be used to clear gastric mucus before gastroscopy or to eliminate intestinal gas before X-ray examinations.
2. Usage and Dosage
- Adult Dosage: Usually 1 to 2 tablets (40-80mg) taken 3 times daily.
- Timing: Recommended to take after meals or between meals (before bedtime) for optimal defoaming effect.
- Maximum Dosage: The maximum daily dosage is generally not recommended to exceed 240mg (approx. 6 tablets) to 500mg, as directed by a physician.
